A.H.A.V.A.

Looking for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah project?

Many Bnei Mitzvah choose to celebrate this special milestone by empowering Israeli kids. This is your opportunity to directly build Israel's future. Mastering English is one of the keys to a child's success.

Celebrating Israel's Youth

So what can YOU do?

Children reading

Join our Annual Readathon!

Every year A.H.A.V.A. holds a Readathon for children in grades 1-8. Children are inspired to read and improve their English by leaps and bounds.

By getting sponsors, you can raise funds for A.H.A.V.A. scholarships.

You can join us! Simply get your books, line up your sponsors, and read, read, read!

Stack of colorful children's books

Collect Books for Us!

You can ask all your party guests to bring a gently used children's book along. Ask them to donate a dollar a book to cover shipping costs.

Perhaps arrange a book drive by setting up a basket at a few local schools and synagogues, collecting the books when you are done.

You will be helping us build school libraries. We also donate these to schools participating in our Readathon, where readers receive a book of their choice and the winning school receives 15 books.

Creative fundraising activities

Fundraise for Scholarships!

Be creative! One girl asked her local pizza shop to donate all profits from pizzas sold during a set two hours. They sold a gazillion pizzas that day!

You can collect old cell phones and used ink cartridges in a drop box at your JCC or synagogue. There are companies that will refund you for them.

You might organize a gently used clothing or toy sale, or ask guests to help finance a specific library upgrade project in lieu of presents.
