Betty's Books is a special collection of free, downloadable, and printable booklets tailored specifically for English as a Second Language (ESL) beginning readers. Some are original creations, and others are compiled from open internet literacy sources with permission.
Simply choose a book below, download it, print it single-sided, and assemble it following these quick steps!
Choose any book from the list below and download the PDF file.
Print out the book pages completely one-sided onto standard printer paper.
Separate the title page from the stack and fold it in half.
Fold all the other pages in half together in the other direction (see video). Stack them up in order.
Insert the middle pages into the title page (the fold will now stick out towards you).
Staple the spine 3 times. Cover with scotch tape if you wish. Presto! You have a book!
[00:00:22] Note: Fold the internal page numbers in order (1, 3, 5, 7) out together before tucking them neatly into the outer cover sheet.
